Robby V (art by Travis Heckel - April 13, 2016)

Robby V (Five) was a former Superuniverse Top 10 character based off of the mispronounciation of wrestler Rob Van Dam's ring name when he was wrestling under the alias "Robby V (Vee)", thinking the phonetic V was the Roman numeral V (Five).

Origin[]

The origin of Robby V can be traced back to Episode 20, spinning off of a conversation that TGBL and Bix were having about Demoltion Blast (Carmine Azzato) working in Eddy Mansfield's IWF around Universal Studios in Florida, where him and Bill Eadie would cut promos in broad daylight around the park. TGBL mentioned to Bix that it was the first time he had seen Rob Van Dam, as he was doing hosting duties with Kevin Kelly where they'd be sitting in Directors chairs.

TGBL mentions that there was a New York wrestling hot line - along with other ones of low quality that kept popping up in the 1990's - that the host was giving the answer to the question of "What was Rob Van Dam's ring name when he first appeared in WCW?" when he mispronounced the answer - Robby V - as Robbie Five instead of a phonetic "Vee" in his name.

Following Episode 30, a post was put up on the 6:05 Facebook page in order to vote for a Loser Leaves Town match for the Superuniverse pitting Mad Dog Boyd against Robby V. On Episode 31, it was revealed that Robby V had the fewer votes, and was therefore eliminated from the Superuniverse Top 10 voting, and retired from the territory.

Facts / Miscellaneous[]

Total appearances on the Superuniverse Top 10 : 1 (Episode 22 - #10)

  • RETIRED - Upon losing the Loser Leaves Town voting to Mad Dog Boyd, Robby V is one of the first Superuniverse show characters to be axed from the show by virtue of the fans (although the Kayfabe Cops were the first to be removed from the show, they were done so by the hosts themselves.)
